Track and Trials
This video is a brand storytelling video. The goal of the brand storytelling video is to tell a story that is deeply rooted with the brand. As such, the video doesn’t (and frankly, shouldn’t) have any product placement within the video in order to help drive home the true message.
The video itself features a person interested in trying out for a track and field team. The video follows his training to becoming a track and field star, with the help of his coach. The underlying message in the video is to adapt, overcome, and persevere despite whatever obstacles may come your way.
As one of my first videos, it’s a bit rough around the edges. Despite this, it features a wide array of solid framing and camera angles that, to this day, I’m quite happy with.
Explainer Video – The History of Video Games
This video is an explainer video which covers the history of video games as briefly as possible. This video emphasizes a more editing heavy approach to video making, as a large majority of the content used are archival. It also showcases my amazing camera presence, or so I like to think.
Throughout the video, I guide the viewer through the different eras of video games and consoles to help understand the point that we are currently at, as well as giving a brief look into what the future of gaming could look like.
I utilize different video editing techniques, moving the frames of content around in order to give the overall video a more dynamic look.
The video also uses natural sound from some of the clips to make the video more engaging.
Promotional Video – Long Branch BIA
This short and sweet video showcases the municipality of Long Branch, showcasing it as the wonderful lakeside community that it is.
Filmed in winter, this was a rather difficult one to shoot, due to the poor weather conditions. However, succeeds in showing a glimpse into the hidden gem that is Long Branch, and a brief look into what to expect if and when you visit.
The poor weather conditions also made it quite difficult to capture any activity in the neighbourhoods, as most people preferred to stay inside. It would have been great to capture some lakeside activities that people would normally engage in during spring or summer. This made me more inclined to focus on other aspects of Long Branch, like the lakeside houses and its wide array of shops that people often visit.
Explainer Video – Artificial Tool, Intelligent Threat
This average sized video goes into depth about the history of artificial intelligence and looks at how it evolved into what it is today.
Similarly to ‘The History of Video Games’ video, I take you through each era of AI. All of the content on screen (graphics, video, and otherwise), except the archival images of Alan Turing, John McCarthy, and Arthur Samuel, and two planet vectors from Vecteezy, are created solely by me.
The most difficult part of this video was the research, but it was also one of the more entertaining things to research. There’s a lot of history around AI that I wasn’t able to fully cover in this video, and someday, I may decide to make an newer and longer version of this historical analysis.
